You also need to build some theme park buildings like souvenir stands, viewing
platforms, bathrooms and places to eat. Part of how you design the part is
decided right from the beginning when you must decide the general shape of the
island along with the terrain. Naturally it would be easier to just slap a park
together on a flat piece of land, but that make for a very uninteresting place
and the tourists would not be happy. So you need to come up with just the right
balance between having an aesthetically pleasing park and one that won’t cost
you a fortune to build on.

| Breed dinos and let them roam your park. |
Speaking of tourists, well they are your major source of income and you must
make these people very happy so that they won’t mind paying outrageous prices
for admission and at the food stands. You have four different types of visitors
that you need to take care of. They include Mainstream, those that are just
happy to be there; Thrill Seekers, those that want to see the meat eating dinos
in action and Fun Lovers, who are kind of the alter-egos of the Thrill Seekers
because they would rather see dinosaur running around playing. As you can see
with the differences between the Thrill Seekers and the Fun Lovers, the visitors
don’t always want the same things and that is what makes it interesting for you
and drives how you divide and create your dino exhibits. This takes some
creative ideas on your part, which is what the game is about after all. You can
even drive the visitors in one of those yellow and green Land Cruisers so they
can get up close and personnel.
Graphically and sound-wise the game is a little mixed. While I liked the first
couple of hours of the John Williams music, it did start to get a little old.
Some of the graphical effects are really well done with special mention to the
water effects. However there were these strange “jumps” while scrolling around
the park that has no place on a system as powerful as the XBox.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
78%. While I don’t have any huge
complaints overall with Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, it just seems to be
missing something and at times the action is slow and tedious. I would certainly
recommend it as a rental title, but just don’t expect it to rock your world…
