"Tip to flying a Dodo plane like a pro:
-=Take Off=-
When you get in the Dodo, drive it slowly to the far end of the longest runway
at the airport, facing Staunton Island. Make sure that your plane is aligned
with the lanes on the runway so that you don't have to make any turns during
takeoff. Once you get in perfect position, hold down the throttle and start
picking up speed. NEVER LET GO OF THE THROTTLE/ACC. BUTTON! While taking off,
keep the nose of the plane pointed down. To do this, press the default key,
NUMPAD 6. Try not to get sparks flying off your plane, but make sure you do not
bounce. As you gain speed, your plane will bounce once or twice. This means that
you are ready to take off. Don't take off until your Dodo does about three
jumps. Finally, let go of the NUM 6 button and your plane will fly high into the
air.
NOTE: After takeoff, immediately force your plane down so that it is parellel
with the ground/water below you. NEVER PULL UP!
Tip: To gain more altitude, force your plane down. Don't worry, when you are
about to crash, let go and your plane will spring up.
-=During Flight/Cruising=-
By the time your plane is up in the air and steady, you'll notice that you're
getting close to Staunton Island. The most important thing to remember while
controlling the Dodo is to make small and smooth control inputs. NEVER hold down
right/left or you are most likely to crash. To make a turn, quickly smash the
left/right button to turn. Do this repeatedly. While doing so, after you're
facing the direction you want to face, straighten out the plane.
While cruising, never actually let go of the 'Dodo Down' button. Keep tapping
the Dodo Down button, and it should look like the plane is hopping in mid-air.
:-)
-=Hazards=-
Wind: Sometimes, you will notice that your plane's tail will wiggle left to
right. This is because the wind is blowing your plane from the side. If this
happens, either turn left or right 90 degrees.
Unique Jumps: When you fly over a unique jump, it will go in the "Slow-mo
cinematic camera" sequence. It will continue doing this until you crash/land. To
avoid this, fly around the EDGE of the city.
Stall: If you find your Dodo stalling (Means that your plane's nose is turning
up but you're losing speed and altitude) , do not let go of the throttle but
instead, let it drop. Eventually, your plane will regain altitude along with
speed.
-=Landing=-
When landing, there are two different ways you can land.
To land, fly over the area in which you intend to make your landing.
To make a quick and dirty landing, fly until you are just before being directly
over your landing area (Use the Top-Down view to make it easier) and pull up. At
the same time, let go of the throttle. Keep pulling up and wait for your
aircraft to stall and drop. If you are HIGH above your landing area, when you
stall your plane will try to pull up again. Prevent this from happening by
pulling down and keeping your plane vertical, going down.
For a smoother landing, approach your landing area, exactly lined up. (Long
road/runway recommended.) Now, slowly pull up. Make your plane's nose point up
about 10~15 degrees, just like when a real plane lands. While doing this, let go
of the throttle. When your wheels touch the ground, hold down the handbrake to
stop more quickly. To abort any landing, go full throttle and push the nose down
until it comes up again, and act like you've just taken off.
