Cowabunga Dude! Soon you'll have the chance to skateboard with Bart
(and eight other Simpsons characters) across the streets of Springfield.
You'll get to skate across 10 different environments drawn from the TV show,
including Downtown Springfield, Krusty-lu studios, Itchy & Scratchy Land, and
Sir Putt-A-Lot's. Each of these areas has been filled with skateable
objects, allowing you to grind on everything from rails to famous landmarks.
The better you skate, the better you get, allowing you to access previously
unreachable areas. For example, when you can jump higher, you'll be able
to reach rooftops or fly over walls, opening new sections of the environment to
skate.
You'll
hear different phrases and dialog from each of the characters in the game and
they will sound authentic as well. Each of the skateable characters, which
include Bart, Marge, Homer, Otto, and Krusty, is voiced by the actual actors
from the TV show. Each character also comes with over 40 unique signature
moves that will take you some time to master, giving you a lot of play value
from the game. Mastered Bart's "In Your Dreams" kickflip? Then try
to pull off Homer's "Stinkyfish" (don't ask).
The game can be played in three modes: Freeskate, Skate Fest, and Skillz
School. In Skate Fest mode, you'll have the opportunity to unlock new
locations, characters, and skateboards. You'll also be able to earn money
to spend on new skateboards which will allow you to do even better tricks.
You'll also be able to challenge your friends to two games: Horse and Trick
Contest. In Horse, you have to perform the same trick as the other player.
Failing to do so will earn you a letter and when you have collected an H, O, R,
S, and E, you'll lose the game. The Trick Contest challenges you to
perform more tricks and collect more points than your opponent in a set period
of time.
