You'll soon get the opportunity to play a unique boxing game that will
combine the best features of arcade-style boxing games with those of more
realistic sims.
Mike Tyson Heavyweight
Boxing gives you the chance to fight as, or go up
against, 15 of the top boxers in the sport. In addition to the always
controversial Mike Tyson, the game includes such fighters as Hasim Rahman, Larry
Holmes, and David Tua. The boxers will look just like their real-world
counterparts, featuring realistic, motion-captured movements and even real-time
facial animation. In addition, you'll see the toll of the fight's punched
reflected on the boxers. The game uses a special facial damage engine
called PAIN to realistically model the effects of well-placed punches.
The boxers will not just look the part - they'll also act it. Each
fighter comes complete with their own set of signature moves - punches jabs,
hooks, and defensive moves such as blocks and dodges. I know what you're
thinking and the answer is no, you won't be able to bite anybody's ear off.
You won't have to fight as somebody famous. You can make your own boxer
and completely customize his look - body type and size, skin tone, and more,
even adding tattoos if you want. Your fighter will improve as he gains
more experience, and will be upgradeable with over 185 available improvements,
many of which will have to be unlocked. With all of the available moves,
and the signature moves of the included boxers, the game features over 600 total
punches, moves, and combos.
The game will make you think that you are watching a boxing match on TV with
its realistic graphics and multiple camera angles. Further enhancing this
feel is the 20 real-world arenas included with the game that include Carnival
City, Caesars Palace and Wembley Arena.
Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing is a versatile game, sporting nine different
modes of play. These modes include exhibition, championship belt mode, and
speed boxing. The championship modes even use a realistic scoring system
that awards points for landing key punches. You'll have to fight in quite
a number of rounds before you can unlock everything the game has to offer.
Between the extra fighters, combos, tattoos, and more, it will take you a total
of 106 fights to unlock them all.
Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing seems like it will have something for everyone
from the casual fighting fan to the boxing aficionado. Look for the game
this Summer.
