Bruce Harper's A World At War is a grand strategy game which simulates the military, economic, political, diplomatic, research and production aspects of the Second World War. Black Powder Wars: Battles of Napoleon (PC)
The top down map scale is 100 meters per hex at 10 minutes per turn. Both the map and the unit art are editable and a full scenario creator allows each customer to modify maps, units, leaders, game data and AI instructions. Combat is resolved in detail including losses to the man and gun, unit morale, leader effects, positions, formations, command and control and construction and demolition. Weather is fully modeled, with effects on combat, movement and fog of war. Eighteen different terrain types are represented in all four seasons, plus fourteen hexside types and five types of roads.

Close Combat: Panthers in the Fog focuses on one of the pivotal moments of the break-out from Normandy in 1944 by the Allies: the German armored counterattack at Mortain. Panthers in the Fog gives the player strategic level command of their forces, issuing orders to regiments and battalions to defend or attack while allocating artillery and air support for them. Engagements move into the tactical level, where your decisions have huge consequences. Only the best-equipped and trained troops can face an advancing Panther, but a Panther with no fuel or ammo becomes as harmless as a kitten. These decisions can directly affect who controls the battlefield at the strategic level!
