Gaming News - December 2005
Cary, NC (December 5, 2005) - CDV today announced that it has secured the
rights to publish GSC World Publishing’s
Heroes of Annihilated Empires.
From CDV:
Heroes is the first title in a trilogy of games, and is set to ship in 2006.
The games will offer an extraordinary blend of RTS and RPG gameplay, challenging
gamers to create a powerful leader and a dominant military force through battle,
diplomacy and treachery in a rich fantasy world. CDV's agreement with GSC World
Publishing is a part of CDV Software Entertainment’s ongoing efforts to provide
developers worldwide with high-quality, personalized attention for publishing,
marketing and public relations services in all key gaming markets.
According to GSC World Publishing CEO Sergey Grygorovych, this signing is a
major step in the maturation of the videogames industry of Eastern Europe, as
only a few publishing houses from this region have tried to self-publish in the
American market directly before. “Having collaborated with CDV Software
Entertainment since the release of our very first title, Cossacks (which sold
over 2.5 million copies to date), we are confident of CDV’s ability to market
our games in North America”.
In development by GSC Game World, Heroes of Annihilated Empires will offer a
unique combination of RTS and RPG gameplay, as players build massive armies and
develop a heroic character in a rich fantasy world filled with magic, myth and
monsters. Four distinct races will battle for domination using both swords and
sorcery. Heroes’ new 3D engine shows the astonishing beauty of the created
world, reflecting the peculiarities of various races’ territories. The game’s
setting will also be represented in novelizations by writer Ilya Novak. For more
