Gaming News - November 2005
Montreal, Quebec (November 18, 2005) - Strategy First and Sonalysts
today announced the release of a multiplayer demo for S.C.S - Dangerous Waters.
From Strategy First:
The multi-player demo for Dangerous Waters includes one playable mission that
has four controllable platforms and can support up to 30 players in
multi-station play:
MH-60R Mission
Saberhawk 51: Conduct an Area ASW search for Chinese Kilo class diesel
submarines.
Players will command an MH-60R LAMPS helicopter attached to Helicopter
Anti-Submarine Light Squadron 47 (HSL-47). A large international oil
conglomerate has received permission from the United Nations to begin oil
drilling in and around the Spratly Islands on the South China Sea. The Peoples
Republic of China has vehemently opposed any efforts to drill in the Spratly
Islands. Your mission is to ensure both cargo ships cross the "goal line." Other
U.N. member nations will then escort the ships to the Spratly Islands.
Kilo mission
SS368: Intercept and sink the cargo ships transporting oil drilling equipment to
the Spratly Islands.
The Peoples Republic of China has claimed the Spratly Islands as sovereign
territory and opposes any drilling by foreigners. As the Commanding Officer of a
Kilo class submarine in the Natuna Straits, you are ordered to intercept and
sink the SS Gisela Tide and the SS Robik Cossara. Your primary mission is to
sink the cargo ships carrying the drilling equipment before they cross the goal
line and are escorted by an even stronger naval contingent.
With the addition of GameSpy Arcade support, “S.C.S. – Dangerous Waters™”
includes standard multi-player and multi-station functionality. Thus, players
will be able to compete against each other or collaborate as a team. When
utilizing “multi-station” mode in multi-player, up to 30 players can team up and
operate individual crew stations on the SAME platform to achieve mission
objectives.
