Agawam, MA (October 30, 2006) - Microsoft today announced that Megadeth will be appearing at their Gears of War Launch Party at Six Flags New England.

Six Flags is slamming the door on the popular Halloween-themed Six Flags Fright Fest celebration in a spectacular fashion this year with an Xbox 360 “Gears of War” national sweepstakes and exclusive Megadeth mini-concert at Six Flags New England on Halloween night, October 31, 2006.

Set to launch on November 7, 2006, Xbox 360’s Gears of War blends the best of action games with the best of horror titles. Guests at the Six Flags New England launch party can preview the highly-anticipated game with hands-on playable demos from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. Megadeth, one of metal and hard rock’s most popular and forward-thinking bands, will debut the “Gears of War” soundtrack during a mini-concert exclusively for Six Flags patrons. The launch party will be filmed by MTV as part of its upcoming show “Gears of War: The Race to Launch.”

“This private Xbox 360 party and mini-concert will be a thrilling close to the Halloween night finale of Six Flags New England’s 2006 Six Flags Fright Fest celebration,” said Lou Koskovolis, Six Flags’ Executive Vice President of Corporate Alliances.

Six Flags Fright Fest features spine-tingling fun for all who dare to visit. During the month-long Halloween celebration, Six Flags theme parks are transformed into spooky Family by Day, Fright by Night entertainment destinations. Trick-or-Treat trails, hay rides and kooky monster shows delight the little ones but as the sun goes down, the fear factor goes up with haunted mansions, terror train rides and nightmarish ghouls.
