Gaming News - October 2005
New York, NY (October 20, 2005) - Atari announced today that
developer Frontier has completed work on RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild!, and that
the game has gone gold. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! is scheduled to ship
to retail outlets nationwide on October 25.
From Atari:
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! invites tycoons of all ages to create and
manage a safari-themed adventure park that features thrilling new rides as well
as many different animal species to manage. According to the NPD Group,
RollerCoaster Tycoon is the top-selling tycoon franchise, having sold nearly
nine million units life-to-date worldwide and is the second best-selling PC
franchise of all time in the U.S.
“RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! is an incredible addition to the RollerCoaster
Tycoon family,” said Matt Collins, Director of Global Brand Management. “With a
balance of animal management and extreme coasters, as well as heightened
business opportunities and entertainment options galore, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3:
Wild! will quench the thirst of RollerCoaster Tycoon fans.”
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! retains the focus that has made the franchise
so enduringly popular. Requiring RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 to play, the game
encourages players to increase their parks’ cash flow through new attractions
such as baby animals, new shops and billboards. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild!
includes customizable animal shows, cutting-edge and classic theme park rides,
and a slew of characters including a VIP, an animal keeper staff member and the
tiger mascot – an old RollerCoaster Tycoon favorite. Players can now recreate
their favorite safari-style theme parks, with elephant rides and the
Paddle-Steam Cruiser, and choreograph animal shows using the RollerCoaster
Tycoon MixMaster. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! was created by Frontier
Developments, Ltd. in conjunction with Chris Sawyer, the creator and sole
developer of RollerCoaster Tycoon. Additional information about the franchise is
