Gaming News - July 2006
San Francisco, CA (July 21, 2006) - Ubisoft today announced the
release of a making of video for its TMNT game.
From Ubisoft:
Based on the upcoming CGI feature-length film starring the Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles, the TMNT video game is being created under a licensing agreement
with The Mirage Group. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are represented for
merchandising by 4Kids Entertainment.
The special video, which can be found at
www.tmntgame.com takes fans behind the scenes and offers the first glimpses
of game play action. In the video, Ubisoft details how game developers from its
award-winning Montreal studio collaborate with TMNT movie creators from Imagi
and Mirage to ensure the video game experience remains true to the film. The
TMNT movie will be the first all-CGI animated film in the history of the
franchise and derives its gritty tone from the original comic-book series.
In the CGI movie, the Turtles will experience their most trying time as heroes
and as a family, as Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo lose their focus and
struggle to maintain their unity and ninja discipline. Now, it’s up to Leonardo
and the faithful father figure Splinter to reunite the band of brothers and save
New York City from a monstrous evil that lurks around every corner.
Ubisoft’s TMNT video game is slated to launch in conjunction with the release of
the film which will debut nationwide March 30, 2007 from Imagi Animation Studios
and Warner Bros.
