Gaming News - July 2005
(July 8, 2005) - Wizards of the Coast today announced that Magic:
The Gathering Online: Saviors Of Kamigawa, a new expansion for Magic 2.0, is now
available.
From Wizards of the Coast:
The new expansion returns players one last time to the exciting,
spirit-filled, Japanese inspired world of Kamigawa. Now, players must enlist the
aid of the greatest legends of Kamigawa to join the ranks of the war’s victors.
To bolster players’ decks, Magic: The Gathering Online: Saviors Of Kamigawa
brings with it the most powerful MAGIC® cards ever - "Epic" cards. Epic cards
are so powerful that once you put them into play their effect continues every
turn after you play them.
Magic: The Gathering Online: Saviors Of Kamigawa features 165 cards and is
available today.
In addition to the powerful Epic cards, Saviors Of Kamigawa offers players many
other cool cards and features to expand their existing MAGIC decks or build
all-new ones, including:
> Wisdom Cards – The more cards you have in your hand, the stronger Wisdom cards
become in game play. There are more than 20 wisdom cards in the Saviors Of
Kamigawa set to play with and collect.
> Kirin Cards – The Kirin’s are a rare cycle of creatures with special powers
that activate when you play a spirit or arcane card.
> Ascendants – Ascendants are monks that become legendary enchantments. They are
SAVIORS’ cycle of “flip” cards.
> Spirit Decks – Saviors Of Kamigawa also enables players to do more with Spirit
decks including the new ability "Channel", which interacts with "spirit craft"
and soul shift.
Saviors Of Kamigawa brings an exciting close to the Kamigawa block. For hundreds
of years on Kamigawa, the material world peacefully worshiped the kami
(spirits), but something went terribly wrong and the spirits began attacking.
Now the destiny of Kamigawa is in the hands of players!
The Magic: The Gathering Saviors Of Kamigawa trading card set launched on May
31st and is available in 15-card booster packs (MSRP: $3.69 each), and four
different, 61-card theme decks (MSRP: $9.99 each).
