Gaming News - June 2006
Montreal, Canada (June 29, 2006) - Meridian4 and Frozenbyte today
announced the release of Level Editor tools for Shadowgrounds.
From Meridian4:
“Shadowgrounds has an active fanbase and this is our way of thanking our fans
for their support. We hope that the Level Editor gives Shadowgrounds more
longevity and reinforces its position as a great, retro-inspired action shooter.
Some enthusiasts are already working on mods and new missions, and we're
extremely excited to see what they come up with”, says Frozenbyte CEO, Lauri
Hyvarinen.
About the Editor
With the Level Editor, modders are able to create totally new missions, even
story-based campaigns and distribute them to other gamers, who can easily enjoy
the new content with the built-in support in Shadowgrounds Launcher utility.
A set of building blocks were created to help users create buildings fast and
easy, instead of using the costly professional tools used in the making of the
original Shadowgrounds game. With dedication it's also entirely possible to
match Shadowgrounds' outdoor environment quality. Gamers can also use features
such as environmental effects (rain, snow, sandstorm, and lightning),
conversations between characters, computer screens/PDAs and much more.
The Level Editor can be downloaded from the Meridian4 web site at
www.meridian4.com or the official Shadowgrounds web site;
www.shadowgroundsgame.com. For
all people who purchased Shadowgrounds through Steam, the Level Editor is
available for download through their channel.
