Gaming News - May 2004
Nottingham, UK (May 10, 2004) - Warhammer Online, the upcoming
massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) set in the Warhammer
fantasy world will be showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los
Angeles, May 12-14, 2004.
From Warhammer Online:
Set in a virtual re-creation of the Reikland, players take on the role of
mercenaries and outlaws living on the margins of society, who through luck,
skill and a trusty blade can rise to become powerful heroes – famous or feared
throughout the Empire for their bloody deeds.
Warhammer Online game features include:
The great cities of the Reikland with hundreds of locations, characters and
quests. Much of the game play will take place in these vast urban dungeons where
players can spend weeks or even months exploring their many winding streets,
markets, palaces and sewer systems.
An exciting and innovative character development system that encourages players
to progress through the world and develop their characters in a unique,
biographical and highly Warhammer way – Flagellant, Cut-throat or Anarchist.
A unique skill-based magic system that gives every player the ability to
practice spell casting.
Player versus player combat integrated into the game through the same skill and
career system. High-level careers are mutually antagonistic -- so if you choose
to become a Bounty Hunter you will become PvP to Outlaws and vice versa.
Custom-built massively multiplayer engine that delivers an incredible graphic
environment including seasons and fully dynamic weather to create a constantly
changing player experience.
