Redmond, WA (May 10, 2002) - Microsoft today announced that the Siege
Editor, the editing tool for Dungeon Siege, is now available on the game's
official site at
http://www.microsoft.com/games/dungeonsiege. The Siege Editor gives
gamers the ability to rework nearly every aspect of the game, creating their own
spells, dungeons, and worlds.
From Microsoft:
The Siege Editor is packed with features that allow gamers to create almost
any scenario imaginable without having to write any programming code by hand.
Key features include:
- Assemble terrain using more than 3800 different nodes
- Populate worlds with more than 200 different monsters and 150 NPCs
- Script battles, ambushes, and elaborate in-game movies
- Create lush environments with more than 1200 different objects
- Scale, rotate, and adjust the behavior of any object in the game
- Create lighting with a mixture of ambience, point, spot, and directional
light sources
- Enhance levels with ambient sounds and special effects
Coinciding with the release of the Siege Editor, Gas Powered Games is
publishing the first of many tutorials called Siege University. In the first
tutorial, Siege U 100, gamers will learn the basics of the editor, assemble
terrain and create a basic map. Future Siege U topics will include Templates,
