Los Angeles, CA (April 26, 2005) - Vivendi Universal Games (VU
Games) announced today that the real-time strategy game Empire Earth II has
shipped to retail stores in the US and will be available for purchase by
Thursday, April 28th.
From VU Games:
Empire Earth II has already received critical praise from gaming
publications. PC Gamer Magazine gave the game a 94% score and “Editor’s Choice”
award in their review, declaring that “Empire Earth II is the new king of
real-time strategy gaming.” IGN.com states, “This is truly an epic game on all
levels” in their review, adding “Empire Earth II is a deep and satisfying
real-time strategy game.” In addition, Warcry.com asserts, “if you’re going to
play one RTS game this year, play this one.”
“Empire Earth II is the only real-time strategy game that gives players complete
control over all of human history and beyond,” said Philip W. O’Neil, Chief
Operating Officer and President, North America for Vivendi Universal Games.
“We’re excited that the game is already getting such rave reviews and expect
that gamers will agree that Empire Earth II takes the genre to a whole new
level.”
Building upon the success of its predecessor (GameSpy 2001 PC Game of the Year),
Empire Earth II includes over 500 unique units, breakthrough
'why-didn't-they-think-of-this-before' interface innovations, and for the first
time in the series, ambient weather and seasons like sandstorms and snowfall
that affect game play.
The single-player campaign features three globe-spanning campaigns powered by
all-new non-cheating AI technology. The conquest continues in the online
multiplayer mode, where new diplomacy options and nine game types create a new
level of strategy and competition.
A featured title in NVIDIA’s “The Way It’s Meant to Be Played” program, Empire
Earth II has undergone extensive compatibility testing to ensure a “no hassles”
install-and-play experience for gamers with NVIDIA-equipped PCs. The game
includes optimizations for the Intel Pentium® 4 processor supporting
Hyper-Threading technology and supports the latest NVIDIA™ nForce4 SLI Intel
Edition motherboards.
