San Francisco, CA (April 29, 2004) - Ubisoft today announced the launch of the mod section within the official Far Cry community site hosted by Ubi.com.

From Ubisoft:

Far Cry (PC, Rated-M, $39.99 MSRP) features the intuitive Sandbox Editor(tm), a powerful tool that allows users to create new Far Cry levels and mods. The CryENGINE technology which the game and editor are based on allows for the easiest, most user-friendly map-editing tools ever created. Players can build their own maps, re-construct game levels, and switch from editing to playing on the fly with one simple command. In addition to releasing this tool, Crytek has released a 180+ page manual explaining how to work with the editor.

The mod channel on the Far Cry community site will support and highlight user mods that have been created with the Sandbox Editor. The site will include in-depth features of top mod teams, as well as a comprehensive and growing list of links to other Far Cry mods.
