Renton, WA (April 6, 2004) - Wizards of the Coast today released details on their Magic Online Invitational Tournament.


From Wizards of the Coast:

The world’s best MAGIC: THE GATHERING players will gather at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles May 11-13 for the prestigious MAGIC Invitational. The invited players, with combined winnings of more than $500,000 playing in MAGIC tournaments, will duel on MAGIC ONLINE terminals at the Wizards of the Coast booth (West Hall #2240). Show attendees are invited to watch the pros in action and pick up tips and strategies for their own MAGIC ONLINE game.

The Invitational is the all-star game of MAGIC, bringing together the very best MAGIC players in the world. The winner will take home a unique, highly coveted prize: the opportunity to design a MAGIC card in his likeness. Wizards of the Coast will fly the sixteen invited players to Los Angeles for three days of live competition. The final round will take place at the MAGIC: THE GATHERING Pro Tour San Diego May 15.

The 2004 MAGIC Invitational players will be traveling to E3 from across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Below are the Pro MAGIC players that have been invited:

MAGIC ONLINE was first introduced at E3 2002 and since then has amassed one of the most active online gaming communities, with constant events and more than 900,000 games held monthly. Casual games are available 24 hours a day. Players meet at virtual tables in a range of game rooms for every level of player. Enhanced tutorials and practice rooms have been added for new players. New card sets are uploaded approximately every four months, offering players endless strategies to add to their digital decks.
