Cary, NC (April 18, 2002) - CDV Software Entertainment today announced Sudden Strike II for the PC. The original Sudden Strike sold 650,000 copies worldwide. Now the sequel, Sudden Strike II, returns players to World War II battlefields with all-new campaigns and 50 never-before-seen units. CDV has also added Japan to the list of playable nations in the real-time strategy game, including Germany, Russia, Great Britain and the United States.  Sudden Strike II is scheduled to ship late August 2002.

"We've added a wealth of new options to give 'Sudden Strike II' a fresh appeal and an intense sense of realism," said Robert Pickens, chief executive officer of CDV USA. "From options like additional units and a variety of attack formations to the realism of destructible buildings and changing weather patterns, we're tuning everything for an optimal gameplay experience."

"Sudden Strike II" features include:

  • More than 50 new units
  • A new playable nation - Japan

  • Planes that land and launch from airfields
  • Clearly distinguished unit types
  • Realistic damage values and armor
