launch of online forums for their new PC game, Battlefield Command: Europe at
War 1939 – 1945 (formerly known as WWII: RTS), created by Russian developer 1C,
known for the critically-acclaimed flight simulator series, IL-2 Sturmovik.

From Codemasters:
Destined to be the most authentic and compelling tactical real time strategy
game to hit the market, Battlefield Command is now in full development at 1C in
Moscow. The title was acquired by Codemasters last year and will be published
exclusively for PC in the spring of 2004.
In Battlefield Command, players direct troops through some of WWII's most
significant battles from its European theater. The action is played out in real
locations that were constructed using topographical data and period-specific
aerial photography. The game's epic visual style is superior to any previous
real-time strategy title to date. Players experience stimulating and stunning
graphical detail and effects, directly related to the commands they make on the
battlefield.
An incredibly rich game, Battlefield Command will span some of WWII's major
European battles from the invasion of Poland and France in 1939-40; and the war
on the Eastern front; to the D-Day landings; and the fall of Germany in 1945.
1C's high production values will make Battlefield Command: Europe at War 1939
– 1945 for the PC, a landmark tactical war game and a firm category leader when
it's published by Codemasters next spring.
The forums open today at
www.codemasters.com/battfieldcommand and the game will debut at E3, Los
Angles, in May 2003.
