Gaming News - March 2003
Boston, MA (March 4, 2003) - Tri Synergy, a PC and videogame
co-publishing company, announced today that BANDITS: Phoenix Rising (BANDITS)
has gone gold.
From Tri Synergy:
This “Mad Max”-style action game for the PC in set in a desert wasteland of
territorial clans. Players will battle cannon-mounted vehicles, while defending
their gang and seeking glory, for their clan. Developed by Grin Inc., BANDITS
will blast its way onto store shelves on March 25, 2003.
With several clans vying for power namely the Wolfpack, Flaming Pumpkins,
Crusaders and Enclaves, players must battle hordes of heavily armed enemies with
custom-built cars that are equipped with missiles, guns, cannons, grenade
launchers and mine droppers. The notorious leaders of the Wolfpack gang, Fennec
and his vertically challenged co-driver, Rewdalf, guide players through more
than 22 action-packed missions ranging from train robberies to the storming of
outposts, providing hysterical commentary along the way.
“BANDITS: Phoenix Rising is a fast-paced energetic combat-racing title that
is as entertaining as it is challenging,” said Shane Nestler, executive vice
president of Tri Synergy. “Players are going to ‘drive’ into the world of
BANDITS and never want to come out.”
The goal of the Wolfpack gang is to steal gold from the unbreachable Jericho
City. In the meantime, the other clans have discovered the re-emergence of “The
Phoenix,” a doomsday weapon powerful enough to demolish houses and men by the
hundreds by firing only one round. All clues for finding the necessary materials
to construct this diabolical weapon, point to Jericho City.
