New York, NY (February 15, 2007) - Humongous today announced that
Backyard Basketball 2007 is now available at retail outlets nationwide for the
PlayStation 2 and Windows PC.
From Humongous:
Backyard Basketball 2007 combines fun and fantasy with realistic NBA plays
and strategies that are appropriate for kids. The game includes all NBA teams,
uniforms, and logos as well as a roster of animated kid versions of current NBA
stars including the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James
and Backyard Basketball 2007 cover athlete and five-time NBA All-Star Paul
Pierce of the Boston Celtics.
“Being on the cover of Backyard Basketball 2007 is an important highlight in my
career. I spend a lot of time working with kids, so I know how popular and fun
the game is and how it can help kids better understand the rules and strategies
of basketball,” says Pierce. “I really like that Backyard Basketball 2007 is
based on solid game play like the most sophisticated adult games, but is
designed for kids, so it’s funny and simple enough to jump in and play right
away.”
Now in its fourth iteration, Backyard Basketball is the best selling kids
basketball videogame ever, and the only officially licensed kids basketball
video game of the National Basketball Association. Backyard Basketball 2007 is
the latest entry in the Backyard Sports series and the only game brand licensed
by all professional US sports leagues. Since 1996, the franchise has sold over
10 million units and has received over a hundred awards.
