Gaming News - February 2003
Diamond Bar, CA (February 6, 2003) - Netamin Corporation announced
today the selection of alpha testers for their forthcoming title Ultimate
Baseball Online (UBO). Due to be released in summer 2003, UBO recreates the
world of baseball online.
To be considered as an alpha tester, players who meet the minimum hardware
requirements can register by visiting,
www.ultimatebaseballonline.com/alpha/sign_in.asp. The testing will commence
with chosen participants on February 7, 2003 and continue through March 1, 2003.
From Netamin:
Selected baseball players will have the unique opportunity to get a
sneak-peak at the game’s capabilities first hand. Participants will form their
ultimate dream teams honing their pitching, fielding and batting skills while
competing against other first-rate ball clubs from around the globe. Ultimate
Baseball Online will prove to be an unparalleled and innovative experience for
the baseball fan as well as the casual sports gamer.
Ultimate Baseball Online is the first ever Massively Multiplayer Online
Sports Game (MMOSG), allowing two teams to compete in a 3D virtual stadium. Each
participant controls a player for a specific position on a team and gamers can
build their athlete’s skills by practicing pitching, fielding or batting. The
UBO universe will allow league play, pick up games and a farm system, just like
the real life big leagues. The season begins in early 2003. For more
