Gaming News - February 2002

Minneapolis, MN (February 28, 2002) - Gamers and golf enthusiasts alike can now dream, build and play on their own dream course design in Golf Resort Tycoon 2 from Activision Value Publishing, a division of Activision Publishing, Inc.. Building on the popular simulation series, the game challenges players to not only to create, manage and maintain their own ultimate golf resort but then to play the newly created courses in beautifully detailed 3D environments for the 1st time. Golf Resort Tycoon 2 is currently available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $19.99 and carries a rating of "E" by the ESRB - content suitable for persons ages six and older.

"Golf Resort Tycoon 2 builds on the unique experience of going behind the scenes to design, build and manage the ultimate resort, and adds the challenge of actually playing on the course," said Danny Hammett, President, Activision Value. "The game is a unique blend of strategy and creative elements combined with all the challenges of playing a round on your own dream creation."

From Activision Value:

Golf Resort Tycoon 2 lets players choose from a variety of different environments to build their resort including a forest, a desert oasis, a mountainous setting, a tropical paradise island or an autumn wooded terrain. Each area offers its own unique challenges and benefits. As the resort designer, players have to create an attractive, economical, and profitable golf resort while keeping the guests happy. To assist in this goal, players can customize their resort with putting greens, flower gardens, pro shops and rental shops, food and beverage stands and even a swimming pool. Success is based on the player's ability to attract golfers to their resort and, in time, make a profit.

To further improve on the games wide appeal, players can play a round on the very courses that they have created in a third-person perspective. Adding to the realism of the game are the plush luxuries that a top rated resort would offer. The game also lets players join or host golf events, and even entertain special VIP guests.
