Gaming News - January 2007
Burbank, CA (January 30, 2007) - Codemasters today announced the
launch of the official Heatseeker game website located at
www.codemasters.com/heatseeker.
From Codemasters:
Debuting with the site launch are two all-new, explosive video previews that
are stocked full of fiery ammunition for any budding fighter pilot, as well as
new details on the PSP version of the game, and a slew of other game assets and
information. Seeing is believing, so set your targets and discover what this
supercharged, blackout-inducing flight game has to offer as it prepares for take
off in March 2007.
The Heatseeker Overview and Impact-Cam videos are the first releases in a
series of videos created by Codemasters and voiced by Heatseekers own Senior
Producer Andrew Wensley. There are some things which just need to be
visualized, says Andrew. I can describe the intensity when you see your
enemys SU-47 Berkut fighter jet ripped to pieces by your LRAAM missile in
bullet-time slow motion, but it just doesnt do it enough justice. These videos
are like having a member of the development team with you 24/7, ready to walk
you through with real-time, in-game action.
Codemasters has also made available further details on the PSP system version of
Heatseeker. Todays friends are tomorrows enemies in Heatseekers wireless
multiplayer mode for up to four players. Take your pick of the most advanced
military flying machines and test your loyalty when the F-22 Raptor on your tail
(or the face in the cockpit of the doomed jet in front) is somebody you know.
Additionally, the PSP system version features missions specifically designed for
short-burst play, perfect for gaming on the go. Missions have been scaled down
in length in the event of a low battery, or arrival at the destination, meaning
players wont lose large amounts of progress if and when the device needs to be
shut down.
Heatseeker is planned to launch in March 2007 for the Wii, PlayStation 2, and
PSP (PlayStation Portable). The Wii and PlayStation 2 system platforms are rated
T (Teen Mild Language, Violence) by the ESRB. The PSP system is currently
rated RP (Rating Pending) by the ESRB. Be sure the check out the official game
web site at
