Gaming News - January 2003
Montreal, Quebec (January 8, 2003) - Strategy First announced today
that it has signed a multiple title publishing agreement with Polish
developer/publisher Techland. The deal will see Strategy First publish 9 titles
including the much-anticipated Sci-Fi Shooter Chrome into the North American
market.
When asked about their new partnership, Steve Wall, V.P. of Acquisitions for
Strategy First and Magda Bona, International Sales and Purchasing Manager for
Techland spoke about the newly formed relationship and what it means to both
companies.
“This relationship represents a key milestone for Strategy First” said Steve
Wall. “Techland is an exciting company that has created a wonderful and diverse
lineup with broad range appeal. We are very excited to be bringing their titles
to North America and look forward to reaching new gamers not normally associated
with Strategy First products.”
“We couldn’t have chosen a better partner to introduce our games to the North
American market,” says Magda Bona. “We are confident that Strategy First will do
a great job on our upcoming titles.”
From Strategy First:
Chrome, a Tactical First Person Shooter, is a dramatic story of heroism,
friendship and betrayal; a story full of sudden twists and turns mixed into tons
of Sci-Fi action. Players assume the role of Logan, a veteran mercenary turned
bounty hunter who is out to make it rich. Using a system of implants, the player
is able to manipulate Logan’s personality and abilities in order to accomplish
all of the 14 enormous and varied missions. During the course of the missions,
Logan takes part in breathtaking chases using six futuristic vehicles, becomes a
silent assassin to strike at unwitting enemies, or grabs his heavy plasma gun
and implants enhanced muscles to storm through enemy lines. And if all this
isn’t enough, Logan’s past starts to catch up with him at the most inappropriate
of moments...
Chrome is set to be released in Q2 2003.
Along with Chrome, Strategy First will also be publishing the following
Techland titles: Xpand Rally, Speedway Championship, Pet Soccer, Pet Racer,
Indiana Jack, Crime Cities, Chess 2003 and Bridge 2003.
