We recently had the opportunity to demo Bet on Soldier, a game that takes a slightly different approach to the first person shooter. In the future the world’s great corporations are at war and they’ve acquired armies of mercenaries to do their fighting for them. Of course they’ve found a way to generate huge profits from these wars. Needless to say you play one of these mercenaries, but you have more on your mind than money – you’re also looking to avenge the murder of your wife.

Well so far Bet on Soldier doesn’t sound all that different from other shooters, but its point of departure is not its storyline. Bet on Soldier really puts you into the role of a mercenary in that you must complete missions to earn your pay. What’s more is that the game gives you an opportunity to make even more money by betting on your success. With the money you earn you’ll be able to purchase better weapons, armor, and even teammates, which will allow you to go for more dangerous and thus profitable missions.

Bet on Soldier utilizes an advanced AI and physics system in an attempt to make its battles as realistic as possible. Enemies make use of cover and even work together to take you out. Good thing your team is also good at using cover and providing you with strong backup.
