Dark and Light will feature 15,000 square miles of land in the game. Can you
put that into perspective for our readers? How long would it take a character to
walk from one end of the world to the other?
Very long! 15,000 square miles equals to twice the size of the state of New
Jersey in the US. The Dark and Light surface is huge, that’s why a dense &
dynamic transport network has been set up to prevent players from walking for
hours in this large world.
What means of travel will be in place to help players get around? They won’t
be spending all of their time walking will they?
A dense transport network has been set up so that players can move easily
from one point to another. They can use public transports such as balloons or
flying dragons. Players can quickly have their own mean of transportation (dodo,
dragon, gliders) to explore the world of Ganareth on their own.
Are there cities in the game? If so, how big is the largest?
There are many villages, such as the starting villages you will discover as
you start your adventure in Dark and Light. Indeed, we recommend you to start
your adventure in a Dark or Light Human Village. You will be able to experiment
numerous starting quests that will allow you to evolve quickly to reach the
level 15. The big city of Dark and Light is Al Drifa, a neutral area where
players meet merchants, travellers and where any Ganareth’s inhabitant can meet
other players.
Are there underground locations as well? Dungeons, caverns, … ?
There are no dungeons or caverns in Dark and Light. The lands of Ganareth are
already large enough to give strong exploration and gameplay opportunities.
I understand that players can enjoy outdoor sports in the Dark and Light
countryside such as snowboarding. Snowboarding? How will that work?
As soon as the player is in the snowy mountains, he can use the snowboard. He
just needs to be on a steep enough face to start snowboarding. He faces the
slope, then moves forward and “jump”. For stunts, hit the space bar to “catch
some air”.
Players can organise snowboard contest or choose to practice this exiting sport
on their own!
