Before I begin, let me state that this is one of the hardest missions on the
game, especially on Veteran, so be prepared for a lot of reloads before you
make it through.

Listen to Randall giving you the objective when you'll be interrupted by
another soldier informing you of a German counter attack. Run outside and
you'll notice an objective on your compass. You've got to snipe the German
mortar teams before they wipe out the rest of your guys. This bit will remind
you a lot of the end of "Silotown", however this time you've got hundreds of
Germans less than a few meters away from you.

The best way to go about this is to get into those small wooden trench things
and use them for cover, then when you have a new location to head towards
switch to a Thompson and make your way alongside the barbed wire taking out any
Germans who are close until you can get a clear shot at the enemy mortar teams.

After five or so mortars go down, you'll need to help your squad clean up the
remaining Germans in the area, so use the planted MG42's, or just your Thompson
and kill them all. Phew, that was pretty hard, right? Well the bad news is that
wasn't even the real attack, they were just testing your defences.

Move back towards the bunker picking up any ammo you can find then take cover
in the Western wooden bunker things. The Germans will completely bomb the hell
out of the area for a good minute or so before they'll make their main attack
on the hill. The West flank is the area which will be penetrated most easily,
so you're over there to keep the enemies at bay.

Stay in the wooden bunkers for cover and pick off any Germans who have made
their way into the defensive perimeter, then when you head news of a halftrack
moving in from the West, go prone in the small ditch to the West. As the
halftracks move past you, jump up and plant your bombs on them. Hopefully you
can survive long enough in the ditch to do this because it's a huge help
getting both of the enemy carriers out of the way before they can even get
outside.

Once they've both been blown, move into another of the wooden trenches for
cover, and most likely to repair your health. Kill any Germans you can see, as
by now they'll probably be all over the place, so watch out in case they try to
enter your bunker or come around behind you. Make your way pretty much around
the whole perimeter, using each bunker for cover, then another halftrack will
come up the West slope. Head around and use the same ditch as you did before to
sneak up behind it and plant the bomb. This time the troops will get out of the
back, so take them out, then get back in the bunker for cover.

As you've probably realised, the main key to surviving this mission is to use
the wooden bunkers for cover as much as possible, and to keep moving around the
area from bunker to bunker, wiping out any Germans who get too close. Keep
fighting the last remaining Germans, and once they're all wiped out you'll
learn that reinforcements are five minutes away. It's probably just some weird
coincidence that whenever you learn about reinforcements moving to help you,
they're five minutes away, but whatever. You need to defend the bunker from a
hell of a lot of Germans while the clock slowly ticks down.

Get into one of the wooden bunkers you should be considering your home by now
and take cover from another huge German artillery barrage. Once it's over,
rush to the most Northern bunker and hold that position. Use the MG42 on the
wall in front of you to kill any Germans moving up the hill, but the Germans to
your right and left are by far the most important to worry about. Use your
grenades to keep them off you, and after about a minute a Tiger tank will move
in. It happens to move just past the North bunker, so stay in the ditch next to
it and plant your explosives on it as it drives past, then get back inside the
wooden shelter and take cover.

Move into the next bunker along to the left and use the fixed MG42 to keep the
troops away from you. Another Tiger tank will make it's way up the hill, and
once again it will make it's way right past you, so hold your cover until
it's close, then plant the bomb on it as it moves past and get back into the
bunker to regain some health. Move along to the North bunker again and use it's
MG42 to kill any Germans moving in, then with about ten seconds left some
P-51 Mustangs will move in and blow the hell out of everything. Keep in cover
as the Germans start to retreat, then move out and take out any last Germans as
they run back down the hill.

Meet up with your squad at the top of the hill to complete one of the most
difficult, yet reasonably fun missions on the game.
