Water parks have been increasing in popularity over the past several years.
While they are not yet rivaling theme parks in terms of visitors and number of
parks, they are popular enough to warrant the attention of the best theme park
simulator to date, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. With the Soaked! expansion, you can
create pools, slides, and even sea life shows, creating the perfect companion
park to your dream theme park.

It’s funny that the term “getting soaked” is akin to being ripped off,
because the Soaked! expansion actually gives you a lot of gameplay for your
money. First there are a plethora of new park objects for your enjoyment – a lot
of which are of course related to building water parks, but also included are
new coasters and other rides. Pools and slides are naturally in abundance, both
in the pre-designed object and “design you own” variety. You can make
multi-leveled pools, add wave machines, diving boards, and all of the other
accouterments you can expect to find at water-themed parks. You can even use the
mouse to “swish” the water around in your pools. There are a couple of minor
quirks, though. For some reason you can’t change the colors used in the pool
objects and you can not mix pool objects in with other park elements. This
latter issue means that you can not put objects such as food and drink stands in
your pool complex, forcing your visitors to leave the pool to take care of other
needs.
In addition to the pools and slides, there are other new features that allow
you to build the ultimate water park. New island, pirate, and Atlantis themes
let you give your park more of a nautical feel. Underwater pathways allow your
visitors to “walk with the fishes” and you will be able to add waterfalls to
your park’s landscape. It is also now possible to tunnel through mountains,
which opens up more possibilities for your coaster designs. One particularly
cool new feature is the expansion of the MixMaster to allow you to create laser,
water, and dolphin shows in addition to fireworks displays. You can spend hours
just putting together the perfect show to entertain your visitors.
Soaked! comes with a full set of new water park themed scenarios that you can
access from the game’s main menu. The new scenarios also feature mini challenges
that give you a short term goal – complete a challenge and you’ll be rewarded
with a bonus such as cash or a higher park rating. Of course you can always
enjoy the freeform, open-ended play of sandbox mode when designing a new water
park.
Overall there’s a lot to this expansion game, so if you enjoyed RollerCoaster
Tycoon 3 you’re sure to enjoy Soaked!. You’ll find that it will provide the same
hours upon hours of entertainment that the original game does, so go out there
and get soaked!
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated:
90%. All RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 fans will certainly love getting
“Soaked!”.
