| [7.12] Chance Cards |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Chance Cards, like in The Sims, will pop up every so often, giving you a
scenario. You are then presented with two options, and a third one, which lets
you ignore the scenario. Depending on your choice, something will happen. You
could win an award at work, be promoted or demoted, win some cash, gain/lose
skill points, or even be fired.
This section gives you the chance cards for all adult jobs, and what their
outcomes are. The "_____" represents your Sims' name, so I left it blank.
Also, depending on whether your Sim is male or female, some parts of the text
will read "he" or "she", or "him" or "her". For the sake of this guide, I've
put in whatever gender my Sim is.
Although I have provided the answer I received for the option I chose, the
outcomes are completely random. Once I get different answers, I'll put them
in. If you have the different outcomes, feel free to send them to me, or a
screenshot of the dialogue box so I can type it out. Whenever there is more
than one outcome for a single response, they will be labeled as "Outcome 1",
"Outcome 2", etc.
Chance Cards are listed alphabetically by the Career path.

==============================================================
It's just a normal afternoon shift for _____ when the skies suddenly seem to
open up above him/her and the neighborhood children. A fierce thunderstorm is
raging, and it only takes a few minutes for the main roads to become
impassable. _____ can't leave the kids on their own--should he lead them the
long way home, or try to use the shortcut through a local construction site?
"Long Road" -> Taking 10 soggy kids through an abandoned construction site
doesn't fit _____'s definition of a "good idea". He waits for
the stragglers and then sets off for an adventure through the
winding neighborhood streets. One by one, he brings the kids to
their homes in the driving rain, making sure they are
safe and dry before moving on. The children's families are
amazed at ____'s dedication. Everyone in the neighborhood chips
in to give ____ a $100 reward for his tireless care in his work.
OUTCOME = GOOD

_____ wipes the sweat from his brow in the midst of another unforgiving day on
the lot. The pay is low, and he always goes home with a migraine from the
exhaust. Today is no exception - the lot fills quickly due to a special event
at the local stadium, and they are turning cars away. A coworker wants to use
the empty lot next door as overflow parking and keep the money for themselves.
Should _____ get in on the action?
"Park and Pocket" ->
"Stand Aside" -> _____ doesn't want to risk getting in trouble--after all, no
one knows exactly who owns the empty lot next to them.
Instead, _____ suggests a valet parking solution to his
supervisor--it's a legitmate way to crame more cars into the
lot. The idea is a success--and now that it's valet parking,
the company can charge more for each car parked! _____'s
supervisor is impressed with his initative, and recommends him
for a security guard position at a local office building.
_____ is promoted to Security Guard.

Medicine Chance Card 1 - Orderly position

_____ is staffing the ER of Sim County General Hospital in the midst of flu
season--they're totally swamped. Patients are waiting for hours and hours to
get a room. _____ is nearly overwhelmed when a tired pregnant woman comes into
the ER and begs _____ for a room and a doctor. But since she's not critically
injured, _____ isn't technically allowed to let her in without waiting. Should
_____ try and find the woman a room, or ask her to sit down like everyone else?
"Find a Room" -> _____ is worried about the mother-to-be, who is obviously in
pain. _____ sneaks around and finds a bed that has just been
emptied, and quickly ferries the mother to the bed, slipping
her chart into one of the doctor's queues. Upon closer
observation, the woman is definitely in the midst of labor,
and within 15 minutes of setting up a room for her, the baby
is born! If _____ hadn't snagged an open bed, the poor woman
might have given birth in the waiting room! _____ is offered
a promotion to Emergency Medical Technician for her compassion
and quick thinking.
OUTCOME = GOOD
"Make Her Wait" -> _____ believes this is not a critical situation, so she errs
on the side of safety and asks the woman to please wait her
turn. In her haste, _____ forgot to ask about the woman's
contractions, which are just about a minute apart. The
mother-to-be is only sitting for a fe wminutes before she
goes into full-blown labor, and doctors arrive only minutes
before the baby is delivered on the waiting room floor.
_____ is deemed too inexperienced to work the ER just yet,
and is demoted to Nursing Home Attendant.
OUTCOME = BAD
