"The new age of mythology Titans Expansion brings a whole new gameplay
to the regular version as we introduce the Atlanteans, a powerful civilization
that certain experienced players will surely master soon (or already have).
First off, if you play with an Atlantean God, it is true that villagers do take
a whole lot of time and food to create...it's a bit harder to get going in the
beginning, but your citizens gather resources up to 3 times more than other
villagers! (Even more when they are upgraded to heroes.) Once your economy does
get going and your village is well-developped, a variety of units and
counter-units are at your disposal, not to mention their ability to all
transform themselves into heroes! (Of course, this upgrade does take a good
amount of resources too). These hero-soldiers will not only be good against the
unit they can usually counter, but can also take down myth units at the same
time. Certain Atlantean god powers can be used several times, but some have
pretty weak affects. In contrary, others such as implode and tartarian gate have
an amazingly destructive force if used correctly. Vortex is also very effective
to make your whole army appear in the heart of the enemy's village! Kronos
enables you to use the god power "Deconstruction" for a use of three
times...it's fairly powerful for an archaic age god power and can really catch
your enemy off guard, although they do get back their resources for that
particular building...
Now available to all civilizations, the creation of a titan! These mighty beasts
are extremely hard to create, costing huge amounts of resources (800 food, 800
wood, 800 gold, 50 favor). That's only the first part, researching the "Secrets
of the Titans". Once you've researched that, your opponent will be aware you
did... The second part requires you choose the adequate place to build the titan
gate, which should be carefully placed and very heavily guarded, because it
takes a very long time to build, thus requiring many villagers to work on, and
less on your economy. On top of that, your enemy will also know when and where
you place the titan gate as soon as you've placed it. Beware! Destructive god
powers can take it out with a breeze. I suggest heavy defences around the gate
while it's under construction and maybe attempt to waste the enemy's most
destructive god powers before even researching this costly unit. Once you have
completed the titan's creation, one rule: Wreak total havoc on your enemy, and
stomp'em!! He'll defeat armies of soldiers and crushes buildings in 1, 2 or 3
hits.
How to kill a titan? It isn't easy, that's for sure. The best way to prevent
being devastated by a titan is to destroy the "titan gate" when it is placed.
Send everything you've got towards it while the enemy's taken a big chunk out of
his economy, because if this creature is unleashed, it will be extremely hard to
stop it! So, do everything you can to destroy that titan gate, and if that's not
possible, you have to either make a titan yourself to counter it (This must be
done fast, before the other team's titan gets to you), or create a significant
amount of heroes to defy it's might (Usually, an army will join the titan, so
the chances of hacking away at the titan will be scarce.) Creating a wonder
isn't effective for winning when playing against a titan. The resources and the
great amount of time to build and wait before you can win is too much. The titan
will have all the time in the world to break through, and destroy it with ease.
I've tried using siege boats against titans, and it is seemingly very
effective...that is to look into however.
The best way to employ the new Atlantean civilization and the new titans feature
is to practice with these elements a few times yourself! Good luck and have fun!" -
