"Hi all, This is a review given from a person who had much fun with the prequel empire earth.

Anyone who like real-time strategy games will love this game. It very similar to empire earth but has much more detail embedded. When i say detail, im not just talking about the graphics.

The civilisations have been reduced and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The level of detail that has gone into the civilisations is incredible. During battle, an experienced player who uses their units according to their behavour will fair well.

The graphics are really something. The level of detail reported is certainly noticed.

After playing many games using the team play and automatch i had many hours of fun. Unfortunately, when playing using the automatch feature, the un-balanced nature of the civs was dicovered.

It just seemed that playing (eg) Germany in world war 1, against France was impossible. 9 out of 10 players rushed within the first 2 minutes (when on land), inflicting damge, that for all of my attempts was unavoidable. It seems that certain civs on certain maps cannot be stopped when a rush occurs within the first five minutes. For this game to be trully amazing, we must be given the essential tools to defend. At the moment, i like to play Germany but when matched against France 9/10 times i will lose to a soldier rush, since they have can have auto healing powers, and thus overwhelmed.

The result of this is that users are forced to select specific civs. In an automatch you dont know what you are going to be matched against, and in my experience (9-10) times the opponent will rush. therefore users who understand the game will expect this and simply be a civ that can rush.

I really like this game, but these imbalances must be addressed if the online automatch version is to be widely adopted.

my score for the aspects of the game i consider important :-

Graphics - 9/10
Gameplay - 10/10
Civ balance - 5/10
Game Variety - 9/10
Addictiveness - 9/10" - John Paul
