"This game is Awesome! I reommend it for anyone who wants a good mix of strategy and close up battle. Assult troops are the best part of the game and i just love seeing them crush most anything of the enemy's opposition. Some of the best assult troops are: halberdiers, gothic seargents, swiss armored pikemen, Janissary heavy infantry. Diplomacy is reasonable in this game and the strategy map is pretty good for making flanking attacks too. This game is truly the best PC game i have ever played." - Halberdier
"this game is a mixed bag. the focus on tactics is better than in most
any other war game (except the combat mission series), but there are some
seriously questionable and unrealistic aspects to the game. for example, one
knight with a "valour" of 5 or 6 or higher can be SURROUNDED on all
sides by 100 peasants, and still manage to kill 20, 30 or more or just cause
them to break. this scenario repeats itself throughout the game, particulary
with kings. couldnt the peasants just push over the horse? seriously, at some
point numbers overpower the quality of the unit. also, the strength of archer
units seems underpowered. perhaps my biggest complaint, however, is the
ridiculous manner in which allies treat each other, at least on the harder
difficulty settings. i was allied to THE POPE, for about a century, then out of
nowhere he attacked me simultaneously in about 10 provinces. ponderous. the
diplomacy options are very limited, mostly you'll just try to bribe armies cuz
alliances and the like dont seem to mean anything. overall, the game is a 7." - Crass
"This is a very good game. Maybe if there were more diplomatic opportunities,
this would be more fun. If players could be the Mongol Horde, this game would
have unmatched popularity. Also, it would be better if Horse Archers could fire
while moving! Rating: A-" - Aragon Champ
