If you're sick of constantly waiting for your craft to dock with trade lanes/jump gates/stations etc, then activate cruise engines, mouse flight and "go to" (f2). Fly straight up to whatever you're docking with and when you're right at the door, hit f3 to dock. No more slowing down to normal flight speed and you quickly get through the docking maneouvers - especially waiting for jump gates to open and activate.
