"Well the story itself is very good, the A.I. is very horrifying and damn
smart. The game is the same with the original classic, as we can really feel
what is it being inside the main character. As for the graphics, is very good &
the sound effect is also very good also." - anonymous
"an otherwise excellent game...a few adjustments i would like to see,
however. 1) make it better than half-life and rtcw by setting it in the first
person like they are. 2) add the option to save game anywhere, and/or add more
medkits. (preferably save anywhere) 3) enable cheats without having to tamper
with the registry. 4) allow jumping/climbing. 5) extend the range of the
flamethrower. 6) reset the pc controls so the ARROW keys are move
forward/backward, TURN left/right. (makes sense, huh?) 7) remove features that
cause UNAVOIDABLE injury. with these fixes made, i'll vote for it as best
survival/horror game ever" - alternatehistory
"The Thing is a great game, it has tons of atmosphere and pretty good
graphics. I also liked the way you can't save whenever you want, it makes it a
bit harder and a better game, I think. I love the way the members of your team
freak out and change to monsters unexpectedly. Great Game with a little bit of
originality in its gameplay." - Damo
""The Thing" is a truly unique gamin experience. First of all, it is the
first good horror survival game I've seen for the PC. There are a couple of
things people should get used to, simply because it's one of the first survival
games on the PC. You cannot compare this to a 3D shooter, especially one in a
first person view. This is not one of those. It is more for thrill and the
feeling that you are in a movie. The graphics are amazing, especially if you've
got a nice graphics card. Some of the finer points of the game are not being
able to save every second. This adds more skill, because if you could save
anywhere, there is no challenge. Anyone can do something when they know how, but
it's the thrill of going on that's the case. As for the auto-aiming, well, there
is another aiming much like Half-Life in their new update. This game is great,
and I've always admired games that made you feel like you were in a movie. Look
out, Resident Evil!" - Flint50
"Unique 3rd person 3D action/adventure game. The atmosphere is almost
there, where the 1982 John Carpenter movie was. Best parts: Great storyline,
unbelievable AI (the enemies have own strategy!!!), Sniper rifle (those
exploding heads after fine aiming...huhh), challenging gameplay (too challenging
though sometimes...). I rate it 10. Best game in its category." - Wath
