if you want to eliminate all ground threats coming at ur base before they can do anything, build 10-20 inferno cannons with black napalm upgrade and form them into a semicircle around ur base entrance. then hold ctrl and click on the area where u wanna rape enemy ground units coming at your base. the inferno cannons will create a huge infernocovering ur entire base entrance and will rape anything coming at your base. inferno cannons are the best choice although nuke cannons, tomohawks and scud launchers all work. this works best when super weapons arent allowed. this is extremely cheap, especially if ur enemy is gla and has no air. just make sure u do this in on all ur base entrances in conjunction with bunkers and gatling cannons.if ur chinese, something that works really well is using both nuke and inferno cannons. make sure to station a lot of gattling stuff there cuz others are sure to be coming by air.
