Global Ops is an upcoming realistic
tactical first person action game that will feature over 10 real world locations
and more than 30 real life weapons. Global Ops will take players to such real world hot spots as Chechnya, Sri
Lanka, Beirut, and the South China Seas. Each level integrates building
exteriors and interiors and the surrounding terrain to create a realistic
atmosphere at each location.
In Global Ops, players will face over
25 elite fighting forces based on authentic special forces, peace keepers, rebel
groups, and guerilla forces. Players can also chose from six customizable
specialties (including sniper, recon, and medic) using the game's specialty class system.
Global Ops will also feature over 30 real weapons including hand guns, sub-machine
guns, shotguns, heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, anti-tank weaponry, and
assault rifles. Weapon ballistics are accurately modeled so that players can
shoot through walls and ceilings depending on distance and the caliber of the weapon.
Additional military hardware such as grenades, night vision
goggles, and thermal vision are also available.
Global Ops will support multiplayer games featuring up to 24 players. The emphasis will be
on co-operative play as teams try to accomplish a wide variety of mission types
including hostage rescue, bomb diffusing, escort, and base destruction. Players
will be able to utilize a unique troop reinforcement scheme which reinserts players into the
game via a parachute, helicopter, APC, or beach assault craft. Global Ops will
also feature a single player game which is played against AI controlled bots.
Look for Global Ops in 2002.
