While the game provides a lot of scenarios, most require a large time
commitment, a lot of which is spent waiting for the computer to finish resolving
the combat. This can turn some scenarios into trials of patience as the computer
determines the turn's casualties on virutally a man by man basis. Stick with the
shorter scenarios, which are enjoyable, unless you are a die-hard wargamer with
a historical interest in this campaign.
When a game so meticulously models the resolution of combat, one would expect
it to come with a large manual detailing the factors affecting your units.
Unfortunately, Normandy '44 does not come with such a manual. In fact, it comes
with no manual at all. The game does come with an online help system, but if you
want something you can flip through while playing, expect to kill a tree or two
when you try to print it all out.
In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated: 55%.
Time consuming, overly long scenarios, lack of a manual, and an unusable 3D mode
together bring down this game's rating.
