"Do NOT rely
on armor too much. Use hit and run tactics from long range using ER PPCs
and Gauss Rifles. However, for just in case, leave room for some medium or
close combat weapons. Take advantage of the terrain using support mechs
like the vulture. The enemy wont know what hit him..." - RavenGR
"Tip: One of the easiest ways to bring down large groups of 'mechs is to
lure them with a fast light 'mech (like your scout or sensor mech). These
guys seem so determined on killing your light 'mech off (perhaps due to
low AI) that they ignore the your other 'mechs. At this time, get the
other 'mechs to the back of the enemy - you can even walk past these dumb
guys if you want - and fire at their rear. Remember throughout all the
Mechwarrior and Mechcommander games the back is the weakest point. I've
done this many times, and every time I always feel really lucky.
One bonus - firing on their backs seem to cause less damage to the 'mech
chassis, so that more 'mechs can be salvaged.

"max-out the drop-weight limit for every mission coz every mech you send
is an asset in the field. plan the mission. use all of your RP's, be wise though
in using them. salvage pricely mechs first (use salvage craft!) in the
battlefield (pricely ones first, cheapest last). i love the C-large pulse
lasers(med range) coz of their ROF alongside the LRM's and C-gauss rifle (real
killers). this works for me in HEAVY/ASSAULT mechs coz you can bring in any
combination of both, but the drawback is the heat. send at least one mech with
sensors in every mission (men shen, cyclops, etc.) info on the enemy is vital.
hit-and-run strategy works a lot. or you can use dog bait to draw the enemy in
an ALPHA STRIKE (from the MC 1 game). my mechs kill fast coz they have almost
the same weapons config. LRM's and gauss rifles soften enemy while they're afar.
C-large pulse lasers will slice them in mid-range (imagine... 5 mechs of yours
got at least 4 CLAN-LRM's, and at least 2 C-large pulse lasers) they never get
to fire at short range... hehehe. firing from an elevated position kicks-butt.
air-strikes, fixed artilleries and minelayers are fun too! with minelayers,
you'll get to see enemy mechs dance to your land mines! GOOD LUCK" - LIVE
"when you park 2 mine layers and a repair truck next to a resource thing run
a mech that can jump up and wait for a voice that says new technology available
and your mech will have the ability to fly" - adam
