"Mech selection is
critical to mission success. In general, try to have at least one medium
or large mech with long-range missiles coupled with smaller mechs with
close-range weapons. When the enemy assaults you, place the LRM mechs in
guard mode and target the approaching enemy. If they survive the withering
long-range onslaught, send in your smaller mechs to finish them off at close
range." - TEM
"Spend all of your
resource points during a mission - there is no point in saving them. Spend
them to recover as many Mechs as possible, which you can always sell later for
C-Notes." - TEM
"Having trouble with
those pesky groups of mediums/heavies/assaults that beat you down in groups? Not
a problem really if you follow this simple guide. Get a mech, prefer medium as
they can take the brunt and have the speed to do this, and get one of their
attention. Of course they will follow, and of course they will have deer in
headlight syndrome. Now, rush them straight back to the rest of your task force,
which is in guard mode at a marked area. They will 9 times out of 10 be so set
on killing the first one, they will ignore the others. This also works in
situations where you have a low weight capacity for the mission, but lots of
targets. This time, find those ever useful fuel bunkers/ ammo depots, and run
right through them, with friends in tow. Have another mech waiting close by, for
safety reasons have a medium/ long range weapon. As your first mech blitz
through the death trap, have mech #2 shower a barrage of death behind him into
the fuel. The explosions will rip whatever was stupid enough to follow him to
shreds." - Tandwan - Clan Hellwatch
