"I made the race on the fifth attempt or so. But I think you need a wheel to do so. You won't have much chance without it.

The game looks great and has a great story, but the missions are much too hard. Yesterday I tried the same bash-the-guys scene for nearly 50 times before giving up. Would be doable with save&reload, but you cannot save the game yourself...
