wel in most games (age of mythology two) people wil build up a big army with range and melee wariors now i win a lot using a simple strategie...
you build up range and range and range archers myth centairs medusa trols just range wen (the enemy) attacks you fire al you got at them and aim at the front of there force if you have a lot of range (the big point) you wil shoot down the line of enemy's one by one and there wil be no army left by the time thay get to you....if done properly you wil not lose a single unit wille your enemy has lost his army.this way your free to run at the buildings and burn them down...
and make sure you have a 2e group of range waiting so if this plan i gave you is failing and the enemy is geting close have the 2e group flank(side attack)
the army this wil force your enemy to push on killing al his men or spread his force (kiling more men >_-) ((the flanking group can be horse back archers best))
