The X

An excellent strike formation that concentrates your fleet's firepower by effectively massing your ships into a tighter, three dimensional area. It's drawback is that your individual ships will lose some of their maneuverability due to the tight quarters. This will make them more vulnerable to turret fire, so use this formation with caution when attack enemies with this capability.

The Claw

This formation is a variant of the X formation. It staggers the center of the X back, creating a more maneuverable formation. The concentration of firepower is also increased near the formation's center. The Claw is well-suited to striking a very maneuverable or heavily defended enemy.

The Wall

The Wall is well-suited to capital ships. It prevents your ships from hitting each other and allows them to concentrate their firepower on a single target. The more ships you have in your Wall formation, the more effective your fleet.
