"I went looking for the civ III expansion and in this hick town it ain't here. so I saw this and just bought it in frustration. anyways, I'm hooked. my only complaint is that it seems as if spies are way too powerful for taking over cities. I'm playing at the prince level (level 3) with a Republic gov't and it's basically a land grab with a focus on research while you get a stable gov't and let your spies subvert cities instead of war and senates and riots. no grade until i reach the extended game but for all my opinion is worth, it is pretty dang enjoyable." - gunmac

"this is one of the most confusing games i have ever played (at the beginning). i love the way that the creators finally introduced special units for specific races and the way that they put in a new scenario (midgard). it takes some time to get started unless you already have played the other civ games. all in all i would give it an 8 gameplay-9 starting time-7 play time-10 graphics-8 no repetitiveness-6" - jrjuggler
