"It is very hard/frustrating to get started with this game - the game is
complex and the manual is not that great. The best thing to do is to start with
an easy campaign and learn by doing (follow the tips provided by the game). This
will get you used to the basic functions and the interface, and you can make
lots of mistakes and learn what not to do. As the game proceeds, develop greater
sophistication by looking up specific topics in the manual. Once you get the
hang of this game, it is extremely addictive. The complexity is high enough that
the evolution of the game requires you to constantly update your tactics." -

"Patrician II is an excellent commerce strategy game. It contains almost
every aspect of being a trader, from purchase and sell of goods, construction of
ships, buildings, enterprises, banks, pirates, exploration, politics, etc.
Although this is a very difficult game to be played. To play this game well I
must say that it take most of people more than 1 week to finish a complete game.
But it's an excelentice for people that like complex strategy games." -

"When I started this game, I started it with the tutorial and the
beginning wasn't that hard. But when I started the campaign I didn't know how to
attack my competitor's ships and I still don't know that.
Also, I find it very hard to have a business inside the city, since the running
costs exceed the profit from selling the goods I produce.
Otherwise, this is a great game!
P.S. Does anyone know how to attack the competitor's ships?" - anonymous
