"build a safe village with castles towers and military buildings and wait for them to come to you, when they do you got protection and they'll have a hard time getting in,
allowing you time to counterstrike. ;)" - jellyman
"always build your bombard towers or watch towers inside the wall so that they cant hit on them as you fire.
if you just attacked and they completely destroyed you're army then send all of you
villagers in to build bombard towers near there camp gate so that when they exit it will kill them wile they are
busy trying to destroy you bombard tower you collect economy if this occurs u should almost never have any
economy constantly be getting soldiers then send your army in while you villagers
sneak around and build some more bombard towers on other parts of the camp" - kingkevin
"If you are playing the computer, build a wall around your camp and leave a small opening. Next to the opening, build a few castles. The AI seems to always go for a hole in the wall instead of attacking the wall in a less fortified spot. Your castles will mow down their attacking force and you will lose no units." - jAcKaL
"Much like Turtlmn's tactic using battering rams, but with a little bonus. Always attack castles first with rams fully loaded. Loaded rams move faster and do more damage. Destroying the enemies castles removes his special unit production capability, at least for a while. Then go for the town center. Computer and human players both will gather villagers into the town center for defense. The bonus comes when the town center is about to fall. The enemies villagers must then ungarrison because the building is too damaged. This is a great opportunity: immediately unload ALL infantry from your rams. Your infantry will then pick the closest targets and attack. Many of them will pick the ungarrisoned enemy villagers for easy prey. A satisfying chorus of dying villagers is your reward, followed quickly by the resignation of your enemy when he realizes he has lost most or all of his villagers.

"In the Dark Age build 9 villagers to add to what ever villagers you start with. You should have 12 villagers at least and have them like this- 4 on forage bushes,4 on sheep, and 4 on lumber.Research Loom
immediately and then advance to the feudal age right away. Then build 18 villagers in the feudal age. It may seem like
a lot but it'll pay off when you rush your military in the castle age.You should have 6 on gold,3 on stone, 10 on lumber, and 10 on food. Then, when you reach the castle age I strongly suggest making at least 5 more
villagers on food and then ,make 6 more on gold, make 6 more on stone. Then your military and everything else should be set for the remaining part of the game!" -
