"You need 10-15 dudes with swords, 15-20 dudes with projectiles, and at least 5 trebuchets. Bombard cannons are nice, but not always available. Use the special unit as either the sword types, or the projectile types, depending in what it (the special unit) does. Obviously, upgrade everything to hell, and use gunpowder when possible. Defend town with walls (use forest when available) and at least 2 full (of archers) towers per gate. That will usually do it. When attacking, defend the trebuchets and cannons. Let them do the work. With that many hardcore siege weapons, their building don't stand a chance, and towers are no bother, so all you gotta worry about is their archers, etc... cause your archers will get most of their sword-types before they even get to your troops. Keep them on 'defense' mode or 'stand-by' mode so you can control them more easily. This shit never fails, but you *need* to have plenty of heavy siege stuff (the trebuchets and cannons) so they'll die quickly and not have time to do too much damage. Go for the town hall, towers military buildings and castles first (duh). And you will win." - Psilos

"I forgot to mention a few things before. You'll want 2 (or more) monks to help heal yer guys when attacking; to hell with converting their
troops: waste of time. Make their your units fit against their units. So if they have mostly cavlary and archers, make mostly pikemen, elite skirmishers, and cannoneers(or crossbowmen, etc... always have either cannoneers or crossbowmen). I've seen 1 pikeman take out 2 knights and live to tell the tale (until, that is, he tried for 3). You'll want as little wall as possible, while still encompassing the town (read: use forests and cliffs as much as possible, even when you have to build the wall a little farther away), so there is not too much (wall) to attack and you can concentrate defenses on a few areas and forget about it. If you run out of gold, build a hell-of-a-lot of farms and sell the food. Concentrate on wood, and food, then gold and stone, cause gold and stone aren't needed until you're a bit more advanced. Add this to the previous tip, and butt-kicking will ensue." - Psilos

"Start building bombard towers at your wall, then keep making them farther and farther toward the enemy, if the are neutral, when you have the towers in their town, change to enemy and let those S.O.B.'s DIE!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!! DIE LIKE A RAT IN A MOUSETRAP (EVIL LAUGH!!!!!)" - ME

"First if you attack a enemy make sure you attack them in large numbers and at two sides of the civilization. If you don't break the defenses send another group to another side. You won't have any or little resistance of the enemy because most of his units are at the other sides. This will make victory very easy to accomplish." - Piranha inc.

"In an Islands or Team Islands game advance to the Imperial Age as fast as possible. Once you do this build nine siege rams and enough champions (and elite beserks if your Vikings) to fill the siege rams. Than put your nine rams on three transport ships and send them to your enemy's town. Once the rams ore unloaded start to hit every building you can. And don't bother to try and kill enemy units attacking you rams, once one ram is killed then your units inside will kill the attacking enemies. This tip should kill an entire enemy village without a problem." - Turtlmn
