"I have been an avid chess player for years, yet I find AOK makes me
think more than a good game of chess! The graphics are fantastic, and the
options you have are unparalleled! Thanks MS!" - Robert W. Smith
"The player AI was an improvement on the first game and sound &
graphics still maintain their quality. Many units, upgrades, technologies and
the map editor can keep you going for hours, not to mention the multiplayer
options. I find the extraordinary number of features in the map editor
especially enjoyable. The only criticism I have is that they're not enough
campaigns. It takes an AOE veteran roughly 5 hours to complete them all, but
that is the only down point. Overall, I think this a fantastic game, and surely
one of the best strategy titles ever." - cool_nerd17
"This is a great game. To me, it is impossible to describe it. I
recommend this game to anyone who likes real time strategy games." - rey
"Age of Empires II was a good game that went off from the traditional
RTS games in that it didn't have any tanks or powerful weapons. I'd classify
that as a more timid action game, but it does have a lot of managing strategy.
The fact that you have to protect and expand your town to progress is
interesting, but also annoying. The game doesn't thrill me, though. It doesn't
have any real innovative features. I'd recommend a Blizzard or Westwood game, as
they have more experience. AEII doesn't have the thrill of destroying anything.
(Swords and Spears setting a tower on fire from the base up? Uh, No.)" - Flint50
"Age of Empires II is one of the best games I have ever played. It takes you
to the days when emperors used to rule. The limit of population makes you to
think the right combinations of villagers and soldiers. The uniqueness of each
civilizations is great." - Rishi
"this game is awesome and very addictive it is possibly one of the
