SingStar ABBA Review

The SingStar parade of titles on the PS2 continues with SingStar ABBA. You may not be able to download new music in the PS2 version of SingStar, but thanks to the large number of versions of the game you can still build yourself a nicely sized collection of karaoke tracks. SingStar ABBA plays like every other game in this series, but if you're new to SingStar you'll probably want to check out our review of the game to see what it's all about. This review will focus on just the ABBA version and its track list which I now present to you:

  • Chiquitita
  • Dancing Queen
  • Does Your Mother Know
  • Fernando
  • Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man after Midnight)
  • I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do
  • Knowing Me Knowing You
  • Mamma Mia
  • Money Money Money
  • One of Us
  • Ring Ring
  • SOS
  • Summer Night City
  • Super Trouper
  • Take a Chance on Me
  • Thank You for the Music
  • The Name Of The Game
  • The Winner Takes It All
  • Voulez Vous
  • Waterloo

All of ABBA's big hits are represented here, as well as some minor hits you don't hear as often. There are also some tracks that will be obscure to anyone but the most die hard of ABBA fans, so you should probably count the number of tracks you'd think that you'd probably enjoy singing and see if that number is large enough to justify the purchase price of the game. You should also take into consideration the fact that there's not much here for the guys to sing, so unless your karaoke parties tend to be all female affairs or you have other SingStar discs on hand to give the guys something to sing, it may not be the best choice as your one and only karaoke game disc.

In The End, This Game Hath Been Rated: 74%. ABBA fans will say "I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do" to this SingStar release.
