Burn Notice stars Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a former spy who's been blacklisted - given a burn notice in spy lingo - and left to fend for himself in Miami without any money, support, or knowledge as to who burned him.  With the help of his ex-girlfriend (Gabrielle Anwar), who also happens to be a former IRA operative, and an ex-military intelligence contact of his (Bruce Campbell), Westen uses his considerable covert skills to work as a 'fixer' of sorts, taking on cases of people in need of some special help that the police just can't provide.

Burn Notice started a little slow as a series, almost as if it needed to find itself, but as season two resumes on January 22nd on USA Network the show has hit its stride.  Part one of season two ended with a bang as a bomb in Westen's apartment nearly killed him.  Shaken but not taken out, Westen continues to pursue leads as to who burned him while still finding time to help out a father with a sick son who's been cheated out of $250,000 by some unscrupulous scammers.  The first episode is hopefully a sign of things to come, as the show's wit and the clever ways in which Westen and his friends pursue the scammers make the first episode of season two's continuation both entertaining and exciting to watch.
